Regional compliance

Local compliance,
one global HRIS.

Run every country on one record, with local policies, documents and data protections set up for each region. EU-hosted, SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified.

One platform, local rules

Global teams, without the compliance patchwork.

Expanding into a new country shouldn’t mean a new spreadsheet, a new tool or a new risk. Humaans keeps every employee on one record and applies the right rules for where they work.

Local rules per entity

On Enterprise, run every legal entity, brand or location in one account with Spaces. Each Space keeps its own holiday calendars, time away policies, document types and custom fields.

Processes that branch by country

Workflow conditions apply different tasks and actions by country or department, so a UK and a US onboarding can live in a single flow.

Documents that never quietly expire

Store passports, visas and work permits with expiry dates. Humaans reminds admins and employees 90 and 60 days before they lapse, and records who verified each one.

Access on a need-to-know basis

Custom roles with field-level controls, scoped by Space. SSO via Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra or SAML 2.0.

An audit trail for every change

Who did what, when and from where, across logins, data changes, role changes and reports. Searchable and immutable, on Enterprise.

Time off that respects local entitlements

Policies per office or location, public holiday calendars by country, carry-over with expiry, balance caps and custom leave types.

By region

How Humaans supports compliance where you operate.

Regulations differ from one market to the next. Here’s how Humaans supports each region you operate in.

United States

Enterprise-grade controls for US teams

The security attestations US buyers expect, with the flexibility to run US entities alongside the rest of your business.

  • SOC 2 Type II

Independently audited controls, with the report available on request from our Trust Center, alongside ISO 27001:2022.

  • US entities in one account

On Enterprise, keep a US Inc. and a UK Ltd. in separate Spaces, each with its own PTO policies, document types, custom fields and admin roles.

  • State holidays, assigned automatically

Humaans assigns the right state or regional public holiday calendar based on where each employee works.

  • US pay structures

Record pay in USD or any of 40+ currencies, from annual to hourly, including semi-monthly frequency, with commission, bonus and full change history.

  • Onboarding that branches by location

Conditional workflow steps can send US hires their W-4 and I-9 tasks automatically, within the same process as everyone else.

  • Regional AI processing

AI features process data in the EEA or Switzerland by default, and US processing can be agreed with us.

United Kingdom

UK GDPR, right to work records and payroll-ready data

Built in London, Humaans is designed around how UK People teams already work.

Our Data Processing Agreement covers UK GDPR and the DPA 2018, with the ICO’s International Data Transfer Addendum for any transfer outside the UK.

  • Right to work evidence, on file and in date

Store passports, visas and work permits against each profile, mark them as verified, and get reminders 90 and 60 days before a document expires.

  • Right to work checks via Zinc

Connect Zinc to run right to work and background checks, with completed reports imported straight into Humaans.

  • UK bank holidays and leave policies

Apply UK public holiday calendars and leave policies by office, with working patterns, carry-over expiry and balance caps.

With the DE&I add-on, see the pay gap between men and women at company level and across pay quartiles.

  • Payroll-ready changes

EU & EEA

EU-hosted, GDPR-ready and in your team’s language

Your employee data is stored in the EU, with the contractual safeguards European legal and security teams ask for.

  • EU data hosting

Application databases and file storage are hosted in the EU on Google Cloud Platform, in Belgium and other EU data centre locations.

  • GDPR by design

A DPA with every customer, a named Data Protection Officer, Standard Contractual Clauses for any transfer outside the EEA, and self-service tools to access, correct, delete, export and restrict personal data.

  • AI processing in Europe by default

Personal data processed by AI features in Humaans stays in the EEA or Switzerland by default.

  • DORA addendum for financial services

Regulated financial entities can adopt our DORA addendum, covering the contractual requirements of Article 30 of the Digital Operational Resilience Act.

  • Statutory leave rules, configured

A Danish preset that follows Danish statutory holiday law, RTT balances for French policies, and usage periods of 12, 15, 16 or 18 months to match regional carry-over rules.

  • Local languages and payroll partners

Use Humaans in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Swedish, Danish and more, and connect local payroll tools such as Salary in Denmark and Payap in Sweden.

Asia

Asia’s local rules, configured in Humaans

From Tokyo to Singapore, set up leave, access and contract processes around each country’s rules, alongside the rest of your global team.

  • Japanese annual leave rules

Tenure-based allocations can grant the first annual leave from six months of service, with an April leave year and carry-over that expires after two years.

  • The five-day annual leave obligation

Time away reports show how much leave each person has taken, and date-triggered workflow tasks prompt HR to designate dates in time.

  • Statutory leave by country

Set up Japan’s childcare, family care and sick child care leave, or Singapore’s childcare leave, each as its own leave type with its own allowance.

  • Public holidays by location

National holiday calendars, such as Japan’s, are applied automatically based on place of work, with custom calendars wherever you need them.

  • Regional HR access

Create a role such as “Japan HR team” that can only view and edit data for employees in Japan.

  • Fixed-term contract renewals

Workflows trigger from contract end dates, months in advance, assigning renewal tasks to the employee, their manager and HR.

South America

South American entities, run from one record

Set up Brazilian and other South American entities with their own policies, approvals and access, without a separate system.

  • Local holiday entitlements

Build policies such as a 30-day annual holiday allowance for Brazil, with tenure-based allocations, carry-over limits and custom leave types.

  • National and regional public holidays

Brazil’s national and regional holiday calendars are applied automatically based on place of work.

  • Local admins, local data

Give your HR team in Brazil a role that can only view and edit data for Brazilian employees.

  • Country-specific approvals and offboarding

Conditional workflow steps and approval flows follow each country’s process, from new hire approvals to offboarding.

  • Hand-offs to your local payroll provider

A payroll changes report of new hires, leavers and salary changes, sent by email or SFTP, gives your provider what it needs to register new employees.

  • Keep your local time tracking

Switch timesheets off for specific groups, so any time tracking system required locally stays in place alongside Humaans.

  • Local currency and Spanish

Record pay in local currency, with 40+ currencies supported, and use Humaans in Spanish.
